Migraine Headache Symptoms

Migraine headache is a term used to describe severe headache and it is found 3 times more commonly in women compared to men. It is a serious condition and the headache may last from 4 to as long as 72 hours. Migraine headache is caused by enlargement of blood vessels which resulted in nerves around the brain to release chemicals that causes the pain. In some cases, Migraine Headache Symptoms are very similar to stroke symptoms.
How to describe Migraine Headache Pain?
Migraine headaches are frequently describe as throbbing or pulsating, and physical exertion may increase the severity.
What are the Migraine Headache Symptoms?
Migraine Headache are categorized into 3 phases.
Prodrome ( Depression, yawning, sleepiness, diarrhea)
Aura ( Visual aura, disturbance of vision)
Pain
The presence of a set of warning symptoms divides migraine into 2 types, the migraine with aura and migraine without aura. The aura of warning stage is evident in about 20 percent of migraine sufferers. This warning signs can occur thirty to sixty minutes before onset of a migraine headache. Usually, the aura involves visual symptoms, such as loss of part of your visual field, seeing bright stars or jagged lines or experiences blind spots. Some patients will describe visual hallucinations. Other symptoms may be included in the migraine aura such as numbness in an arm, leg or both. The aura does not have to precede each migraine attack. As migraine sufferers age, they may experience the aura without a headache following it.
Some migraine patients( with or without aura) may sense an impending attack with vague symptoms. They may fee extremely hungry or tired before an headache or they may lose their appetite or have a burst of energy prior to a severe headache. These premonitory symptoms of migraine may occur twelve to thirty-size hours before the start of an actual migraine.
